Bryn's Visit

Bryn is a High School volleyball player who came to our class to read to us today. Her favorite color is green. She plays volleyball, basketball and softball. She is a Viking and Packer fan! She has a green toothbrush. She likes the Wisconsin Badgers and the Texas Longhorns. Bryn has green shoelaces and she is a junior in High School. Bryn comes to our classroom to volunteer and read to us!

Wednesday

In the morning, we wrote notes to the 4th grade teachers. In music we watched a movie about Beethoven. We replaced math with going to the computer lab for writing and then during math started a project. We are working in groups to create a new math game!

Today is a Great Day!

Hi

Today we learned about lightning and volcanoes. We've also talked about hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes. The lightning was pretty cool. It was like a magnet to the ground. Hurricanes are big. They were flooding the whole town. Also, Student Council got to go on a field trip today. We hope they had fun!

Time for School Tuesday

In Math, we had a test today. In Science, we talked about earthquakes. We did an experiment with graham crackers and frosting about the inside of the earth and how mountains are formed. We learned why earthquakes happen too. Now we are going to library. At library, they are going to talk about summer things that are happening at the Public Library. Then it will be time to go home.

Today we went to Morning meeting, as always. Next was reading and recess. Later, spelling and gym. Today was the Nina Fun Run/Walk! Read aloud came next. We went to lunch and after was math. Then we have writing and recess. Science and work time is the last thing because it's the end of the day!

Milwaukee Public Museum

Wow! What a busy day! Our field trip to M.P.M. was a wonderful adventure! We saw mummies, lots of animals and cultures, and even interacted with real butterflies. We saw how Milwaukee used to look and how people from different cultures lived. The bus ride was long, but well worth the trip!

Crazy Cultures

In the moring we went to the computer lab to find pictures for our cultures project to put a book together. We had two switches: two different cultures in two different classrooms. We filled out two different webs for two different countries that we studied. We took our information and put it into flipbooks and now we're using those books to create the text of the Cultures book.

Our Great Day

Today in Miss.Slightam's class we did alot of cool things. First we started with a average morning. Then we had reading and we read some awesome books. Spelling was the usual and art was pretty fun too! At read-aloud, we read the book called Frindle. Lunch had really good tacos and food. In math, we reviewed for the Math test tomorrow. In Social Studies we talked a little bit about the cultures that we studied. We are going to share John's Me-Box next. And then we will end the day.

Today

today we played a really fun game in music and motion! Before we played a game we had to do this thing with scarfs and hooly hoops. Then we got out a big circular stretchy scarf, wich broke a little bit later. Then we left and said good bye to the teacher, then left for lunch.

Our Fun Day

Today we had a fun day! Our day inclued our fun special. Our special today was music and motion. We made up a dance. The dance wasn't easy. In math, we learned lattice multiplication. Lattice is also a type of fence. We are going to have a test on this probably next Thursday. We are going to have a field trip to the Milwaukee Museum in a couple of weeks, so remember to bring a lunch in a paper bag. We had MAP testing this morning. The reading was not as easy as the math section. We are having library today as well.

Terrific Tuesday!

This morning we played a different round of silent ball. The class also learned about elephants. Our class went to Music in Motion. Today, Loran shared her Me Box. She has lots of cool rocks.

After lunch, we had Math and learned a different way to multiply using money. In China, we played games such as Chinese checkers, yo-yo and the Leaf Game. In Brazil, we watched some clips and learned about what foods they eat there. We cut out shapes of butterflies and colored them as well. After recess, we're going to the library.

Monday Work

we did morning jobs . Yummy morning milk. Spelling is complicated.We whent swimming. we had star scientist where Magic Colors were created. In Math, we learned the Partial Products Algorithm, which is a way to use multiplication. After that we switched for Social Studies cultures. We are going to write poems next! Then, we'll hit the road and go home!

The Surprise Blog

Today we went to Netherwood to listen to 3rd graders present poems. In music we watched a movie about Charlie Brown. We read another part of Charlotte's Web. We switched for Social Studies cultures. We either went to China, Brazil or Madagascar. We were bummed that the 1st recess was a red flag.
